the problem is billionaires.

the problem is a system that was vulnerable to being conquered by those with the power and werewithal to do it. it's the death by a thousand cuts. southern strategy. moral majority. telecommunications act. citizens united. the unelected neomonarchy exploiting the vulnerabilities of the neoliberal order to install their puppets at every gate, every lock, every lever. or enough of them, at least.

i said earlier that a power grab is just about replacing those who won't obey with those who will. what we're seeing is the end of a power grab, not the beginning. we're seeing the endgame of the neomonarchy. trump is the end of the line of dominos.

the funny thing is, musk and the techbro oligarchs are new players on the board. none of them were even adults when the plan kicked off. musk thinks he's going to be gothic maga god-emperor but honestly? i doubt it. i think he, like trump, is a pawn for the real dragons -- or, at least, the real dragons are letting him make a mess because it draws attention from them, and breaking things was in their playbook anyway.

i don't think it's accurate to say the game is over but we the people are very much cornered, most of our pieces captured or neutralized. the only real move we have left is collective action. it will be costly. a lot of people will die. but no matter what, the old world isn't coming back, and that's all there is to it.
