tbh we have regressed, also lots of possibility not explored to dumb down shit for users.
Like consider a 'graphical shell' to be a next step of a CLI shell and how it really kinda fails at that, with regards to the compossibility of tools and paradigms and how it works together to make shell scripts useful.
An extension of that idea really hasn't been tried aside fron like plan9 ans other fancy systems and the best we have is like shit like the contextmenu, share menu on mobile/crap and like the drag and drop.prettygood likes this. -

@prettygood @newt Not that it hasn't progressed. It got worse over time. The peak of overall desktop computing was CDE on Solaris and everything after that was worse. georgia likes this. -
