Always a bit conflicted about people who put stuff in their bios like 'non-racist', 'don't like nazis', 'no to genocide' etc. Like who is that for? I realise I'm probably the problem here and that a bit of ally visibility is a good thing, but I just assume that all people should be these things already. But I suppose equally we're taught repeatedly that is of course not the case. Are there any racist nazi genocide enjoyers on Fedi? I suppose there must be instances we're defederated from with people who love that stuff? Should I have this sort of thing in my bio? Seems silly and unnecessary for me to say it, but maybe I'm wrong? Welcome to Ben'sThoughts™ now live-streaming. The point is..... what is your opinion on this?

Edit - inevitably some lovely Fedi people have pointed out that there can be good reasons for people doing this (read replies). Wasn't really judging others choices - was just a bit curious. In conclusion - people on Fedi are the best and I forgot there are often terrible awful people on other social medias (and some instances that have been banished to the Phantom Zone so I fortunately never have to encounter them). 😊

@TheBreadmonkey On the surface, I agree with you; it's almost as if I added "breathes oxygen" in my bio. But I think what those people are doing isn't so much announcing that they don't like these bad things, but rather letting you know that this is what they'll mostly be posting about. That's how I've always read it.
