   @CoastalCoasting well i'd like to be able to go out to things and not be hindered by the lack of clothes that are good in the rain. i only have a jacket that is more like a down (for norcal) so that doesn't seem suitable.

     @skinnylatte @CoastalCoasting I would look for something from Marmot. They make some pretty durable shells. Their GoreTex stuff is going to last longer, but the others will do in a pinch. Usually around this area, all you need is a sweater with the rain shell.
