Trying to automate my office blinds. I can't decide to keep trudging along with a DIY solution or just buy something off the shelf and save myself the stress.
Who am I kidding. I'm gonna DIY it even if it costs me more in time and money because I'm daft like that.

Sun position doesn't really cut it for me. I have a sensor outside of my house that is capable of measuring luminosity (lux). I use that as my control reference, because it's a lot more precise in relation to sunny, cloudy or rainy days.

@andy_warb I can't find it right now, but I came across a blueprint that can control your blinds depending on elevation, location, the sun's elevation, your window size and where you want to have shade in the room etc.
Not wanting to throw you even further into the rabbit hole, but that's definitely something I'd be tinkering with 😄

@andy_warb I'm really digging the approach of using external motors and then having a lot more freedom of choice in blinds/curtains. Having the tech dictate choice of blinds/curtain so close feels unnecessarily limiting.
