Congressional Dems can't "hold hearings" because they are in the minority.

So they are conducting "round tables." They aren't in the official hearing rooms, and no Republicans are showing up. But the Dems are. They *LOOK LIKE* hearings - they have experts & everything. Today they described the practical effects of the US-AID situation. And it's all on c-span. This *IS* "doing something."
