@Rocket@shitposter.world GRUB 0 was already out when Linux 2.4 existed. But some distros might have not used GRUB 0 yet at the time.
I've used Lilo too, it was an optional bootloader on many distros all the way until the 2010s I believe. -

@SuperDicq I started on Linux 2.4. And I think the bootloader was called lilo. Grub was a major innovation.
