   Could folks please stop recommending CalyxOS as a Googled-Android alternative? The community the project tolerates, and probably the developers too, are nazis/farmers and have actively participated in hate/doxxing/suicide-aimed campaigns organized through KF.

     I don't have receipts for specific CalyxOS folks doing worse, but I have seen them gaslighting/playing into the "GrapheneOS guy is crazy" narrative dismissing/carrying-water for actual rw shitbags like Rossmann who I do have receipts for.

     @dalias@hachyderm.io I've actually no idea what you're talking about. I've been using CalyxOS for about three years now, was regularly part of their community and chat rooms and never saw anything like that.

     @daniel When I first saw the slimy stuff Rossmann and his FUTO associates did to the GrapheneOS dev/project, not much was public and it was hard to make a convincing case that they were really nazis. Then he went and platformed Moldbug on his channel and made it dead obvious for us. 🙃

     @daniel I'm willing to agree that it's more complicated, but here's the thing. If I do a search including any of the names involved in the conflicts, everything that comes up is right wing/bitcoin personalities siding with CalyxOS going off about how "toxic" GrapheneOS is. That's a HUGE RED FLAG, having awful people "defending" you and you don't denounce them. That says a lot about who your community is.

     @dalias@hachyderm.io Trust me, that topic is way more complicated than that. If you spend enough time in the GOS chat rooms, CalyxOS automatically become the bad guys. CalyxOS on the other hand actually banned talking about anything GOS related in their rooms for about 2 years now, but certain people still spread the conspiracy theory that they are planning attacks on GOS. Anyone who has spent a single day there can confirm that this is not the case and the developers just want peace and quiet. Talking about gaslighting people.
