   No, there is no evidence that Jackson ever made the quip our public school history books attribute to him.

   The Trail of Tears still happened. Marshall couldn't have stopped it. Three decisions authored by one man couldn't have stopped it.

   One man, no matter how fancy a robe, cannot stop a society from doing what it set on doing. Only the society can stop itself.

   A society that is committed to waiting for men in robes to stop it from doing the thing… is a society committed to doing the thing.
