   Hashtags don't relay content, just make content that is relayed more noticeable and in my experience, there's not enough relays to cover the network sufficiently.

   I have to keep a mastodon.social account if I want to sufficiently keep up with things and that has to be done manually.

     Couple of suggestions, maybe you already use.
     - on phanpy i can keep a column with multiple aggregated hashtag from social, without having an account on social.
     - lemmy forums help find more specific topics
