     @lizzy Reminds me of wanting to move some of my stuff from Hetzner to a local DC to avoid getting :hetznered:
     
     And trying to have software being as auditable and self/co-hostable as possible.

     @lizzy if given the choice between local spyware and foreign spyware i would choose foreign spyware. foreign cops aren't gonna get into my house as easily.

     @kimapr @lizzy Well I'd think that if it would be spyware exclusively from governments, but sadly spyware is also something that's massively made by international corporations selling their stuff to both governments and corporations (cf. "surveillance capitalism").
