  I didn't have any trouble getting through to my Senators and Representative by phone today, so either they've added capacity to the Congressional telephone system to handle the increased load, or fewer people are calling.
  I hope it's not the latter, but just in case it is, please call, today and every day until the Trump coup is permanently beaten back!

  I sent a letter to #Warren, #Markey, and #Pressley via @resistbot, https://resist.bot/petitions/PDWBPU, thanking the Democrats in the Senate for fillibustering #RussellVought and encouraging the caucus to continue to do everything they can to oppose #Trump.
  I also called and left messages for all three in which I said basically the same thing.

  I asked my Sens. and Rep. to address the reduction in NIH funding that went into effect over the weekend, which will have a catastrophically negative impact on medical research.
  Then I called them all and asked for the same thing. On the call I also complained that I'm on their email lists so why aren't I receiving daily updates about what's going on and what they're doing about it? They need to communicate with constituents more.

Federal workers very much need to hear from our electeds that resisting DOGE overreach is the right thing to do, that you support us and that you, yourselves, are taking risks to resist the coup in progress. Why, then, are you not emailing me daily? I subscribed through your Congressional web site nine days ago, and since then I've received no emails from you. The GOP figured this out years ago. They send emails to their supporters constantly, activating them and keeping them riled up. Why the heck aren't you doing this? I'm not talking about fundraising emails. Money asks are toxic in this context and will make your supporters angry. We want to know what you are doing to resist the coup, and we want you to tell us what we can and should be doing. Please get it in gear. Thank you.

  I've taken a break from #WriteYourReps for a while, because I was busy with all the interviews I've been doing, and because I just don't know what to say.
  In the 3+ weeks since sending them the above message, I haven't received a single constituent email from either of my senators or my representative.
  I am gobsmacked by their failure to keep their constituents informed about what's going on.
  I just wrote to them about it again, though it's clearly not going to do any good.

  Meidas touch network cranks out dozens of videos per day and I don't get anything from Markey, Warren or Auchincloss.
  I bet it's a technology issue. They might not realize how easy it is and they probably have enterprise IT people who don't know the Internet.

Form letter response from Senator Markey's office which thanks me in the first paragraph for writing to him about "child care and early childhood education", which I most certainly did not do, and then the rest of the letter is pablum about that topic which, again, is totally not what I wrote to him about.

  Today for #WriteYourReps, instead of writing I called Senator Ed Markey and Senator Elizabeth Warren and told them to filibuster the continuing resolution unless it contains written guarantees that the DOGE slash-and-burn march through the government will be halted and illegal agency cuts will be undone.
  I told Markey that I expected him to honor the commitment he made at his town hall this week to do everything possible in the Senate to block Trump. We'll see if he meant it.

Meanwhile, what are you doing about the fact that the Social Security Administration is currently being run by someone who can't do the job properly, who has admitted that he's just taking orders from DOGE, and who is either a person without values or a Trump loyalist, either of which spells doom for Social Security? Are you just going to wait until Social Security payments stop going out and senior citizens start dying because they can't afford their food or their medications?   After watching your breakout speech at the DNC, I told my wife that you'd run for president, and I'd support you.
  I took an unpaid leave of absence from my job to work on the grassroots "Jews for Obama" organization that I co-created with several other supporters. I would like to think that we made a difference.
