   one thing i noticed about those "optimists" that ask ppl to "just do it" (with stuff like mentioning how someone did something despite everything), often don't acknowledge the much higher amount of people failing despite the effort they put in

     Especially if the person saying it has just won a competitive event over many people who did not win
