So my son tends to use Japanese syntax when he speaks French (I'm probably the only person on Earth who fully understands his French) but he has started learning English at school and I noticed that he sometimes used French syntax when trying to speak English.

@David For me French and Japanese seem to be stored in the same part of my brain. When I try to form a sentence in French there are always Japanese words coming instead.
The other day I watched a video which had both French and Japanese parts. I had to turn it off after a few minutes because it fried my brain 😅 French sounded Japanese and vice versa...

@Snoeksen @David Have been told that the Tōhōku dialect, particularly the Tsugaru dialect(津軽弁), sounds like French due in part to the cold climate & because it's unintelligible to people from outside Aomori. Apparently my Japanese sounds from even further up north, probably due to long stint in UK🤷♂️❄️
