   Just a warning for Fedi devs:

   If you plan on building discovery features for Fedi, BeAware of the "Fedi Mafia" that harasses, threatens, and abuses any dev on Fedi that DARES to make an open platform a little bit more usable.🤦♂️

   Over the past 2 months, I've seen 4 Fedi projects that were building tools to help people find accounts and servers to make it easier to find content on Fedi, get shut down because people who don't understand that Fedi is OPEN, harassed and threatened the devs until they shut their projects down.🤬

   So, if you plan on building these tools, PLEASE just be prepared to block and continue building your tools.

   Ignorant people should not dictate how this protocol is built. Don't let the abusers win.

     @BeAware I started writing such a tool (for search) but then I realized that some people like having the fediverse hard to use. I've since completely lost faith in the fediverse - particularly after trying to engage on the standards.

     I am also losing more and more faith in it every day.😔

     People here just don't want to make it usable.

     If you're wanting a usable social media, for now I just recommend going back to corporate platforms.

     Fedi Mafia won't let this place become usable without a major fight.

     @reiver Fedicate and FediOnFire to name a few, but I don't have the names of the others right now.

     FediOnFire was just an aggregated public timeline of toots. The same thing that's on every single instance. They shut it down awhile ago cause of the threats and harassment.

     Fedicate was a Fediverse endorsement platform to show off users and servers to help people find the stuff they want to see. Now it's just a Fediverse info aggregator because of the harassment.

     @reiver BridgyFed didn't get shut down but yes, it's pretty broken and searchtodon was one of the others that I forgot the name, so yes.

     So, in addition to Fedicate and FediOnFire (that you mentioned) — I assume that BridgyFed and Searchtodon would be on this list, too.
