@pleb487 After hearing the news that Stonewall Jackson had been mortally wounded, General Robert E. Lee remarked, “He has lost his left arm, but I have lost my right.”
Lee’s words sadly proved prophetic. Eight days after the amputation, Stonewall Jackson shuffled off his mortal coil.

@william_travis @pleb487 Seeing pictures of Civil War era figures makes me hate fags / hipsters even more for ruining facial hair. Back then if you had a beard it meant you saw some serious shit.

@william_travis @pleb487 Really weird seeing a picture of young Robert E Lee with no beard.....it is like seeing Hitler without a mustache, a completely peeled lemon or a young Morgan Freeman.
It just feels......off.

@pleb487 The South may have been the nearest example of a Prussian military culture in America.
While the North showcased learned intellect / statesmanship through leaders like Lincoln and raw barbarian power with figures like Sherman & Custer, only the Confederacy produced individuals who embodied both of these qualities.
