I rarely leave my house but this morning I took a road trip over to a neighboring county to visit a woman who has been living in a care facility for a couple of years. She's in rough shape, but healthy, if that makes sense. She could linger for years. That, to me, is a bleak prospect, but she is hanging in there.
Anyway, as I told another friend, maybe someone will come visit me when I am in the home. End of life issues are a serious concern for those of us of a certain age.

Yeah don't let the state touch your shit, they'll liquidate it and pay for your grandson to get his dick cut off

A trust is super great. My grandfather did that for me and it made it really easy to handle his estate.

Really, people need to quickly move beyond the boomer will crap and learn what trusts are. Probate lawyers BTFO ( @Humpleupagus 🤭)

I have known this woman for over 30 years and neither of her daughters talk to her. That strikes me as odd, so I asked her about that today. She said that her ex-husband turned them against her.
Well, I have been around for a while and I suspect that is part of the story. But there was no reason for me to pry or pester her. She is in a tight spot, for sure.
I have one son who will do what he can for me, but he lives far away. Which reminds me, I need to draft a new will and set up a trust for him and his family.

It's sad more people don't have young people, their kids and grandkids, to take care of them.
