   Parents, if I could give you one single piece of advice for handling the teenage years...

   Be interested in what they're interested in. Let your kid info dump at you, try to remember the things that crop up repeatedly.

   Nothing builds that bond between you like just being interested.

   Kids don't wake up one day and decide to stop talking to you. It's not a switch that gets flipped the minute they turn a certain age.

   Listen to your kids, ffs.

     @MsHearthWitch I remember when I was a teen I used to always say that the stereotype was teenagers avoiding their parents and parents beating down the door trying to figure out what was going on. Here I was trying to tell my mom about school, my friends, my thoughts, and she just wasn't interested.
