     Like take encrypted XMPP, remove the federation, make using a phone number mandatory, using a smartphone app mandatory and make sure your desktop app use Electron, and then you got Signal 😐.

     @Sylvhem Nowhere you'll see that it's xmpp. They have a pretty names with nice looking logos and customer like it because it's easy and it mostly works.

     @Sylvhem That's funny because at work i sometime install exactly this : encrypted xmpp, without federation, requiring a phone number, smartphone app optional but desktop app is electron.
