   something i find charming about the lesswrong set is their deep belief in the power of thoughts-as-thoughts. things like roko's basilisk and the notion of 'infohazard' in general, or even the concept of 'bias' they use. that just be deploying the process of ordinary discursive thought in a certain way something momentous can be set in motion
