   A few months ago I wrote a piece arguing that Steam Deck needs a hardware upgrade to remain competitive in 2025. That was *before* Indiana Jones & The Great Circle + FFVII Rebirth (which "runs" on Steam Deck, but very poorly).

   Now this. And I'll give a +1 to @steamdeckhq's concerns surrounding DOOM: The Dark Ages.

   Also? Things are going to get WEIRD if the new DOOM gets ported to Switch 2 but doesn't play on Steam Deck...

     @Tau @killyourfm @steamdeckhq hell, switch versions of Nintendo's own first party IP games sometimes drop frames. I get that PC gamers want to be more exacting, but at some point you gotta turn off the frame counter and just decide if you're having fun.

     @slab_bulkhead @Tau @steamdeckhq Well said, and I agree! But if a game won't run AT ALL due to hardware limitations, that's a completely different story.

     @killyourfm @steamdeckhq Switch versions of Doom and Doom Eternal do not perform nearly as well as on Steam Deck. They run at 30 FPS and sometimes below.

     And anyways, the text says that even playability on Rog Ally X is questionable so I don't think there could be an upgrade for the steam deck. You can't upgrade the vardware if there's no hardware avaliable to upgrade it too
