   Let's hear me out, before you block me.

   Maybe, just maybe #Trump is not entirely wrong about #Greenland.

   I mean: The country's resources have been exploited by Denmark for a long time, its indigenous people oppressed.

   Maybe, the prospect of independence as a US protectorate doesn't look as deranged to them as it does to us.

   PS: Trump is pure evil, no doubt, but he actually might win this.

     The point is: Denmark is no longer fundamentally opposed to the Greenlanders' desire for independence. Trump, on the other hand, wants to annex Greenland. He probably wouldn't even ask the population for their opinion and doesn't rule out a military solution.

     @mina @Sven_Holger_Wolf and canada technically owe their allegiance to the king of the UK, so threatening to annex canada is a threat against the UK
     
     americans chose trump to lead them into a complete free for all society, their lives won't get better, and for the next four years we are going to be hearing from them how everything is the fault of migrants
     
     all i know is, if denmark calls nato article 5 to defend greenland, i will be fucking helping them

     The thing is: All this is neither about the Greenlanders' happiness nor about a real annexation.

     It's about changing the rules of international politics. And with that, Trump is succeeding.

     Never since its founding, was it possible that one NATO partner would come with the plan to chop off a piece of another's land.

     Those were the rules.

     There are no more rules.
