   @egonw Hmm. Only 2 of their posts had federated to my instance. In total on the original instance (when it doesn't fail to load) i see 14 posts in 2 years all with a single hashtag, is that a fair summary? https://mstdn.science/@baoilleach/tagged/Cheminformatics

   If manual following and more intense hashtagging is not an option, this kind of posting probably requires external help for the community to find each other. Are there starter packs or lists à la https://github.com/nathanlesage/academics-on-mastodon for this hashtag?

Mastodon is an interesting platform, and great to have as an alternative should BlueSky not pan out, but the numbers and engagement have not taken off; it feels quiet over there, in a way that BlueSky doesn't."
