BTW what's the normal translation for "Hitlergruß" into English? Does one say "Hitler salute" or is there another common word?

Codeschubse (codeschubse@ohai.social)'s status on Friday, 24-Jan-2025 19:13:41 JST Codeschubse @GreenSkyOverMe i know, not helping, just an anecdote from my Nazi Opa, the one that nearly managed to get Amon Göth's job, who was very adamant, that Hitlergruß was the Grußformel at the end of letters saying "Heil Hitler" instead of the formerly used "Hochachtungsvoll". The gesture, where the straight right arm is lifted 15 degrees to the right with the fingertips at the height of the eyes was called "deutscher Gruß".
