   @CosmicTraveler unfortunately it does seem that mastodon.social is having some issues.

   This is one reason why Fediverse is so great. We don't all have to be on one site, letting the entire network keep flowing if one site has issues.

   However, it does seem to be worrisome that most users will just sign up for mastodon.social and not think twice because of things like this.

   I'd recommend having a "backup" account on another big instance like https://mstdn.social or https://mastodon.world for when this happens.
