@pepsi_man I think so yes, but "affinitive action" hasn't seemed to get the massive negative reaction on a huge scale that "DEI" has seemed to.
It seems like from what I've read, the forced busing is where people fought, and once that was broken, everything else was whimpers

@pepsi_man yes, I think "lack of exposure" was a large point. Many people had no experience with blacks at all, and so could be very easily swayed to "they're just like you - give them a chance"

I wonder if it was lack of exposure? Back then there was no Twitter to show you HD videos of chimpouts.
I will give Trump props for making this an issue that lefties have to re-litigate. That definitely swings in our favor.
