It feels like the same people who bullied me as a kid for liking Star Trek now own it. 😭

@bgeerdes It probably needs to end. Right now, fans seem to create more content in the true spirit of Star Trek than its actual owners do.
Overall, it feels like Paramount and the producers (like those eight producers and a single writer for the movie) are desperately searching for something to work on. That it happens to be Star Trek feels like a coincidence, as Paramount doesn’t seem to have any other valuable franchises left.
So they make randomly shows and just put the Star Trek Label on.
@obrhoff The whole premise of the show is a bit off, Star Trek-wise, isn't it? It's almost like TOS had a spin-off with Khan as the hero.
It's okay to let former favorites move on. (See also: LOTR and Star Wars.)
And before someone tells me it’s just a different Star Trek and I just want the old stuff.
Talents like Naren Shankar (The Expanse), Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica), Brannon Braga (The Orville), and Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) moved on from Star Trek to create far superior sci-fi compared to what we’ve seen since Star Trek 2009.
It’s just full of bad writing, and the talented people left the building long ago (with exceptions).
Now I’m dialing down my toxicity level 😅
