In the past 2 months, @pluralistic 's predictions (not endorsement)—née dystopian fiction—about three big events have come true:

    - the killing of a US healthcare CEO by someone who was burned by the system (in Radicalized)
    - huge fires in the LA area causing people to take cover and be wary of air quality (in The Lost Cause)
    - the projection of protest against a tech richguy on the Tesla dealership/building in Berlin (UK parliament and politicians in Pirate Cinema)

    Are there more?

@sean Do be fair, most of this stuff had already happened before I wrote the books - that's why I renamed the "this day in history" section of my newsletter "Object permanence."

#METAnews Of The Day* Jan 11, 2025 WASHINGTON, DC: Worried by Trump's picks for the FBI and DOJ, President Biden today granted full and unconditional pardon to every US citizen. The pardon covers any crimes that may have been or will be committed before Jan 20, 2028, and extends to all non-citizens who may be in or enter the US until then . "I believe that it is better to let a criminal go unpunished than to unjustly punish an innocent person", he concluded. *100% community approved

@sean @pluralistic When I read The Lost Cause last year, I considered the political vision having 8 years of a female US president with a strong social/green agenda and MAGA being kind of a an old guy fringe group extremely opimistic.

Unfortunately only the dystopian predictions seem to come true.

@sean We may need to start vetting @pluralistic's output in case he unleashes any more catastrophes by “predicting" things. The last thing we want is to have him go all “Lathe of Heaven" on us and, frankly, the warning signs are there.

@pluralistic @sean I did particularly like the expansion of the Juciero type culture into subsidized apartments...

I really hope that doesn't catch on.
