   I talk a lot about risk assessment and threat modeling. These things give us specific things we can do to be prepared and mitigate expected threats to our well-being.

   One thing we who lived in shared flats often overlook is the importance of having a piss jar in case a flatmate is taking too long in the bathroom.

     With all emergency protocols, it should be tested. The worst time to find out it's volume is too low or that the opening is difficult to piss into. Do you remember where it is? Have you tested it? Does every bedroom have one or is it the shared on in the hallway?

     Know the answers before you need it! It could save you one day.
