     i believe there would be no MAGA without white, sole proprietor/contractor, working class GenXers.

     they’re the kind who crowed about being their own bosses, not needing unions and voting against anything that could give a leg up to minorities; to find themselves getting shafted with no possibility of retirement, all their wealth tied to a mortgage they need to hold on to cuz they have nothing else.

     forgetting that GenXers exist really has fucked this country in more ways than one.…🧵

     when you read Pamela Hemphill’s story notice immediately what personal traits she shares not only with many people in cults but specifically in the different cults that make up the American fascist movement:

     1. former or present struggles with addiction

     2. a lack of purpose; alienation from their own talents and skills, especially post retirement

     3. white working class GenXers who feel ―rightfully so― the ladder was kicked from under them before or right after retirement.
