Only in the US. Early 80s was cooler here for experiencing the home computer revolution! (Or so I believe, I wasn't around until the late 80s. By the 90s, computers were passé and in schools we were taught how to use Microsoft Office, whereas in the 80s, with computers new and exciting, those interested learnt programming on BBC Bs (and possibly electronics too - the BBC B was a Swiss army knife computer and could be customised for any task)!)
