   Such an interesting set of arguments. Here in Canada, we have a patchwork if different regulations for foreign ownership of TV and radio stations, phone companies, newspapers, and other media. I think recognizing that media is our way of talking to ourselves about ourselves suggests that maybe we should have that conversation amongst ourselves.

     On the other hand, we need a diversity of opinions and perspectives. I don't know if that means supporting international broadcasters like Voice of America and Deutsche Welle, or robust syndication, or what.

     And I think the question becomes more complicated when you talk about digital media, depending at what layer of the stack you are.

     There's also a question about democratic control and regulations. Privacy, equal time rules, liability. The more the rules are decided in a corporate board room on another continent, the less they are responsive to what people here want and need.

     So, I think I'm yes, but. I think review and consideration are warranted, and that a vibrant, competitive local media market should be supported and fostered.

     @evan Cabotage should absolutely be allowed for airlines in Canada.
