Such an interesting set of arguments. Here in Canada, we have a patchwork if different regulations for foreign ownership of TV and radio stations, phone companies, newspapers, and other media. I think recognizing that media is our way of talking to ourselves about ourselves suggests that maybe we should have that conversation amongst ourselves.

There's also a question about democratic control and regulations. Privacy, equal time rules, liability. The more the rules are decided in a corporate board room on another continent, the less they are responsive to what people here want and need.
