Aztec beads (1400-1521 AD), found in southern Mexico 🇲🇽
These were cast individually by the lost-wax process, each with its own separate clay mold which was then broken to release the object. Associated to the sustenance provided by water and rain, frogs were also a potent fertility symbol, since they lay thousands of eggs and assume a squatting position similar to that of women in childbirth.
