   OK this is hilarious. So, some Chinese on #RedNote don't believe the stories Americans are telling them about America because they thing it's too unbelievable.

   So this OP is asking Malaysians to confirm if it's true 😆

   Why Malaysians? We are rather famous (in China anyway) for being able to speak multiple languages including English and Chinese so... 😅😆🤣

   The situations that TT talked about, aren’t they just fooling us?

   Are there any Malaysian friends who can answer this? Since you’re fluent in multiple languages, and there’s no "firewall" (referring to internet restrictions), you’re exposed to both sides. But it feels like even you don’t seem to fully understand if such situations exist in the US. Things like having to work three or four jobs, struggling just to survive, not being able to afford food, etc. It sounds so exaggerated. It feels like it’s even worse than the lower class in our small towns earning a 2,000 monthly salary. Are they fooling us, waiting for us to believe it and then turning around to laugh at how gullible we are? I really want to know!

     @glitchontwitch I have real life American friends in the US, and relatives too, so their lives doesn't match what I read. I guess it's the extreme cases that's being shared.

     Then again, I always wonder if my relatives are painting a nicer picture to save face lol

     @liztai I would like to say this is the first time I’ve seen people react that way. Like: “please tell me you’re joking and it’s not that bad… :blobcatsleepless: “

     But it’s not. It’s at least the third or fourth time I’ve seen that reaction. Probably more. And definitely more out there that I haven’t seen.

     I would also like to live in a place that doesn’t cause that reactions as often as it has. lol It gets awkward. :blobcatexpressionless:

     It can vary a lot.

     Like I'm not doing as well as some people I know, but still have more than others I know. And yet, not enough to help everyone I know who needs it. It is what it is.

     But also, some of the reactions were over other things like:

     The American flag in every classroom, and that we pledged allegiance to it every schoolday throughout elementary into middle school.

     Or, how much an ambulance or various medicines cost.
