@Will2Power I'm willing to bet she (and most women) would hop into a side-by-side with a Miller Lite enthusiast and I've seen more Can-Ams yeet a family of four off a small cliff than dirt bikes in the past few years. Maybe lower fatality rates though...
@snappler Yeah, I know someone who witnessed a teenage girl die from flipping a four-wheeler/atv, extremely sad. He gave her CPR and she died in his arms.
@Will2Power It's rough out in the woods and we probably all take it a little bit too easy on heavy, high-powered machines. If one got Ken Block (snowmobile, but same idea), it can get anybody. I'm surprised these backwoods nature/zipline resorts still rent pretty high power Can-Ams and Polaris stuff to any day-drinking visitor with a driver's license.
@prettygood@snappler No, I live in the South. Someone I know personally was on vacation and he has CPR training because of his job and saw a girl flip her four wheeler. When he went to check on her she wasn't responsive, so he told someone to call the police and began CPR and her father arrived shortly after. It really did a number on him because he has daughters and he tried to save the girl but she died while he was administering CPR.
@prettygood@snappler It's alright brother, sorry for bringing something like that up myself. Hope none of us are ever in a situation like that (but I do hope you have children).
@prettygood@snappler Well, it seems like you aren't the first person on fedi I've talked to who has trouble or can't have children. Hoping for a miracle if you want them, or if not, hope you and your wife may live happily with each other.
@Will2Power@snappler for me, its an ancient, well-healed wound. What are you gonna do, right?
I'm not quite so old that adoption is off the table, and we have the money to spend, so who knows, right? Life comes at you fast. Hell, somebody should take this house when we're gone.
