@wilfredh interesting fact. My crowning moment back when I did Challenges was realising an advanced problem had an analytic solution that I just happened to be aware of, though this wasn't necessary to get the points. Now I'm a bit suspicious of what Challenges are.

This ensures that people can solve them with any programming language. You don't want fast languages to be able to use the naive solution.
