     I’m outside cell range and want to listen to my downloaded songs stored locally on my phone in YouTube Music. My “downloads” tab locks up for several minutes like this while the app tries to phone home with no internet

     I’m driving in the middle of nowhere, Idaho and my car is down to 50mi left in the tank. I add a stop to my directions home and select gas stations from the list of categories and here are the suggestions in Waze

     When I worked at Slack I reported a couple bugs every week. About once a month they’d be a bug that would be fixed immediately in the public product. This wasn’t part of my job as a writer in marketing but I had a technical background and knew how to use JIRA.

     The reason why? I worked outside the SF office’s perfect WiFi and didn’t have flawless fiber at home. I caught lots of blind spots in the product.

     (to be clear: my actual next gas station was 7 miles ahead but not in the results, and I already have about 1Gb of YouTube Music downloaded for offline situations so I can enjoy driving in the backcountry)
