   We need stronger data protection laws and enforcement with a guarantee that age verification systems are private, safe and secure.

   The new plans miss this vital step at a time when the Data Use and Access Bill (UK) threatens to weaken data rights, as well as the Information Commissioner's Office already having a poor record of enforcing the law.

     Protecting children mustn’t enable scammers to trick people into handing over data or blackmailers to exploit sexual interests.
