   I am keeping pixelfed.social registration open because few other instances can scale this large this fast, and we are working on setting up a new flagship to help lessen the burden.

   It would be pretty ignorant for me to close registrations, and expect the other servers to handle 60K new users a day.

     @dansup that's nice. As other instances get ready, it would be helpful a working migration tool to help populate them and to lower the pressure over yours.

     @dansup Total noob here, but wouldn’t it be feasible to add a automatic server selection option? Lots of people find it quite technical and confusing.
