Overnight, Ukrainian air defense repelled a Russian shahed drone attack. In total, 55 were launched towards Ukraine, 34 were shot down and another 18 were supressed by electronic warfare.
This partial report is somewhat misleading: So, only 3 #Shahed drones hit something. Doesn't sound 2 bad. However, Zelensky stated:
"More than 40 missiles were involved in this strike, including ballistic ones. At least 30 were destroyed. There were also over 70 Russian strike drones overnight." 1)
So, there were at least 15 more drones of a different make and over 40 missiles, including ballistic ones. About 10 hits included...
According to media reports, #Russia's target was, again, #Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Some missiles and drones did find their targets: emergency generators needed to be employed.
The potentially most important news, however, was that #Ukraine was not (only) on the defensive: it provoked this particular attack 2 days ago.
