Assuming there will be voting under trump going forward, the only way he will retain power is to remove voting.
Look what happned to Musk, after the bought twitter he created a poll to ask if he should stay on as CEO, the result of the poll was NO, so Musk changed the rules so only those with a tick could vote.
At least this is how I understand what happened, suffice to say he has the ear of Trump and won't forget what transpired.
