had a syslog that was 500G in an old laptop i use for my homelab. HALF A TERABYTE! ever since we changed IT providers, the wifi been doing weird ish with the older computers. they been disconnecting randomly. seems KDEConnect went HAM with the wifi. the archived syslog was 350G. with the current syslog, it was HALF A TERABYTE!
how dafuck Ubuntu lets a syslog get that big? or am missing something here? is there a way for the system to delete the logs after a certain size?

My original internal drive in my laptop was 1 TB. It probably did not fill up half its space with freakin' syslog files.
Whomever worked the IT dev there needs his ass kicked for not regularly purging the log files. You know, like we are supposed to empty the damn Recycle Bin???

Well, you're exempted from that. LOL
But, I have seen devs and even civilians allow their storage space to get clogged up with nonsense from forgetting to clean out their junk files. Then, when they spend money out the wazz getting bigger storage, and they finally get to clean out the barn (so to speak), they are actually kicking themselves over the money they would have saved by just running a simple emptying of the recycle bin and a monthly cleanse.
