     @GhostOnTheHalfShell @dan613 @notsoloud @emptywheel.bsky.social That's a very widely cited percentage throughout the industry, too. Even worse percentages used in poultry clearances, with all the CDC teams needing interpreters because so few of the affected workers spoke English. These poor folk are being used as cannon fodder in a job that is now extremely high risk.

     Yes, there’s some popcorn worthy news interview of a dairy farmer who freely states that half his workforce is not from the US. When asked what would happen if there were mass deportations and he said well, thousands of farms would go bankrupt, Crops would rot in the fields and within days there would be no food on American shelves. But he voted for Trump because that would be too crazy to inflict.

     I agree with this. the dog has caught the car. The Republicans have total control of the US government and will continue to cement their dominion of it.

     They have so many targets to play with right now. the largest being immigrant communities, regardless of legal status from documented to naturalized citizen.

     They will make a target of any organization. Traditionally that’s trade unions and church groups..

     @GhostOnTheHalfShell @notsoloud @emptywheel.bsky.social Let's see if they actually do get rid of Obamacare this time. Also, many senators have tax shelter farms that rely on undocumented labour, so that will be interesting to watch. In a train wreck kind of way.
