I decided to try KDE again because It's updated to 6.2.5 and... holy shit why is KDE so laggy? I'm copying files to my laptop from my external HDD, but like, stuff shouldn't be laggy. Even when I'm not doing anything, KDE animations aren't 60fps at all either. What is even going on? And fuck, just noticed that key/letter repeat is also laggy.

mischievoustomato@0.5dollah.click's status on Monday, 13-Jan-2025 02:39:16 JST mischievoustomato @Inginsub I don't know how it is this bad. I don't remember KDE 4 being bad when I ran it ages ago on a weak laptop.
I do know that QT more or less only really uses CPU for rendering, which is pretty disappointing in 2025, but it shouldn't be this bad. People say gnome is heavy and shit but it always is at 60fps for me while using less power than KDE.

mischievoustomato@0.5dollah.click's status on Monday, 13-Jan-2025 02:40:28 JST mischievoustomato I swear, every time I use KDE, I find new things that disappoint me of it. How is this even possible? It's amazing, honestly. It's crazy.

:ihavenomouth: (inginsub@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Monday, 13-Jan-2025 12:04:04 JST :ihavenomouth: @mischievoustomato i think i should mention it’s an adaptive sync display and if i connect a 60 hz one plasma works at 40-45 fps, so it’s not a performance issue, it just fucks up the synchronization somehow. both xorg and wayland sessions suffer from this -
