@RustyCrab @icedquinn I recently set up a laptop for someone that had Windows 11 on it and I gave up and just had them use Edge (with ublock origin at least) because it was such a hassle to switch it and keep all the cookies, and it will just trick her into switching back to Edge when I'm not around anyway. Someone needs to start sniping MS execs

@sun @RustyCrab i've been reading some stuff lately talking about 'hybrid warfare' and its basically shit like this
nation state level actors being as annoying as possible within the laws.
like backhandedly respecting consent sheets by constantly popping them up again until you agree to comply

@sun @icedquinn @RustyCrab I wish the US government had the same balls as they had in the 90's. The reasons they sued them back then are nothing compared to the stuff they've been doing recently.

@phnt @RustyCrab @sun they didn't really do anything. one of the original lawsuits they literally just whined "but we already integrated explorer in to the OS, so" or basically told the court they already spent money to be anticompetitive so it would be mean to make them stop doing it
the court was like damn you're right, 1$ fine or whatever the fuck

@icedquinn @RustyCrab @sun They were at least sued for something and had to open up to some small extent. Now they act like nothing's wrong.

@phnt @RustyCrab @sun nominally i agree they should be stopped from this hybrid warfare crap of making the entire OS a funnel that tries to trick you back in to Edge but it seems like a cybernetic issue (microsoft will just do anything they can to keep doing this) so idk that it would matter

@sun @RustyCrab @icedquinn To solve that issue you create an administrator account and the user account as user and the browser won't change.
