   Going through a bit of an angry phase of the friend dying thing. After he fell and hit his head against the coffee table, I thought he had gone to the hospital to be checked out. Turns out, he didn't. He did complain about some head and neck pain for a few days before he started talking incoherently, at which point, he was taken to the ER. At that point, he was hospitalized with a brain bleed.

   If you ever hit your head, especially if you experience neck or head pain, get thee to a doctor.

     If you know someone who has hit their head and then complains of head or neck pain, get them to the ER.

     @CStamp I can attest to this having had a subdural hematoma caused by banging my head on the car roof. Not a pleasant time in hospital I can tell you and the pain was unbearable.

     @CStamp And even if they don't have any pain but are on blood thinners, they should get checked immediately, too. (Source: Very close second-hand experience which fortunately turned out okay )
