   The Supreme Court today rejected trump’s request to block criminal proceedings in his hush money case in New York, meaning a sentencing hearing scheduled for Friday in Judge Juan Merchan's court can go ahead.

   Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett joined the court’s three liberals in the final verdict.

   Any idea why Roberts and Barrett did not side with trump, as they have done repeatedly in the past?

     Judge Merchan, as expected, sentences Trump, without jail time, in hush money case.

     trump will be the first president to have been sentenced for a criminal conviction. 34 felonies in all.
