Meta's recent statements herald a deleterious shift in their products towards even greater toxicity and harassment of minorities - they now unabashedly assume to follow far-right politics.
The least we could do was not to federate with them.
Now we need to redouble our efforts to offer viable alternatives to our loved ones still stuck on these platforms, despite their disgust and anger!

  I know I'm late to the party but didn't want to be guided by urgency: after quite a lot of reading, and exchanges with people here and there, I decided to defederate https://mapstodon.space from Threads. I hesitated for a long time because, beyond what Meta represents, it seemed crucial to me to keep the door open to all users, as opposed to the kind of "entre-soi" that is cultivated a little too often in the Fediverse. The revolution shouldn't just be for the happy few. (1/4)
