I am once again taking on the #Jamuary challenge to put something out every day this month. And like last year, I'm choosing to write and record an entire track each day. This is the first attempt. https://youtu.be/VQ1GNZAcGlA
#Jamuary25, day eight: I drew inspiration from music that I listened to circa twenty years ago (and still listen to today). Then a hell of a thing happened: while recording the lead guitar parts for the last chorus, I started to cry. Didn't think that was going to happen, wasn't even what I was aiming for, but maybe I've just been having one of those days. Maybe I've just been having one of those lives. https://youtu.be/_IEgLrLOZTc
#Jamuary25, day three: feeling better about this one. Took more time on the foundation, despite it being a busier day, and then made some interesting choices on top of that. https://youtu.be/lhGPrcq4R-s
For #Jamuary25, day four, I chose the direction of "gothic horror techno." I'm very pleased that this is what I did with my day. https://youtu.be/3SVRx2EHWOU
#Jamuary25 day five: This became much more of a straightforward rock track with some embellishments; the kind of thing I would have written years ago. It's nice to go back to this sort of thing while still trying new things. https://youtu.be/deGhyQKWUfc
On #Jamuary25, day six, I decided to go in a score-like direction. Something more cinematic. Something without a single drum. https://youtu.be/kT6gPOErLUc
