Then I'll spend a month wondering what the fuck is wrong with me that i didn't get a call when it looked like a perfect job for my skillset.

     I've been looking into coding bootcamps (even though I already have a developer job with my junior college degree) because some of them - the good ones - offer a job placement or your money back guarantee.

     I figure, how can they stay in business? well, because the marginal cost of onboarding a new student is far less than the 10 or 12 grand they charge. So even if they have to refund 1/4 or 1/3 of their clients they still come out ahead. 🧠
     
     Seems like a good deal. The "legitimate" accredited four-year universities sure as hell don't offer that kind of guarantee do they

     @KuteboiCoder @adequate I graduated a bootcamp in june of 2023 and haven't had a single interview since graduation. It's been rough and now I'm wondering how much weight bootcamps hold anymore. Granted mine didn't guarantee a job upon graduation.

     See, I'm interested in paying for the job guarantee. I'm not interested in paying five figures or even three figures for intro-level coding skills that are lower-level than some courses I can find online for free.

     The beauty of it is, one of the bootcamps I found offers a job guarantee within 1 year (basically) of enrollment. And they offer a no-credit-check installment payment plan over a four-year period. You can just fuck'em and default if they decide they're going to slow-walk the refund you're owed.
     
     That's how you know they believe in their product.

     I don't want an "acredited government paper" - I want the organization I pay to be setting booking interviews for me, because they're fucked if they don't, and they're bankrupt if they don't book interviews for not just me, but all of their graduates.

Most people working out there who havent been laid off havent been paid for months and most of the people who have been laid off have masters and phd's. And then they csnt get jobs cause "theyre too old" which makes no sense as experience makes a better worker i dont get it but its eye opening. If i was u id already be reaching out while i was learning to peoplein the industry possibly do some under the table internships for free while yoir schooling and just network with them for a job when u graduate ensuring your own success
